Rachael Schlosberg is an accomplished violinist and pedagogue. She received her Doctorate from Boston University, where she was the recipient of the Albert Spalding Scholarship. An experienced chamber musician, Rachael attended the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival, Juilliard String Quartet Seminar, Aspen Music Festival, and the McGill International String Quartet Academy. She studied with members of the Alban Berg, Tokyo, Juilliard and Vermeer Quartets, among many others. Rachael’s primary teachers include Peter Zazofsky, James Buswell, Bayla Keyes and Connie Heard. Growing up in Kansas City, Rachael studied with Tiberius Klausner, the former concertmaster of the Kansas City Symphony. While at Vanderbilt University for undergraduate studies, Rachael won the concerto competition and performed with the Vanderbilt Orchestra. At Vanderbilt, Rachael earned certification in Books 1-4 of the Suzuki Method. Rachael is a passionate educator with over a decade of experience teaching all ages and skill levels. She served as faculty at All Newton Music School and taught private lessons and chamber music at Boston University. Currently, Rachael teaches privately and is on faculty at Portsmouth Music and Arts Center. She resides in Boston (but soon Austin, Texas!) with her husband, and dog, Dodge.
